Sarah’s York Marathon Challenge
Sarah Clarke
My Story
Hi! My name is Sarah. I've taken the plunge to run the York Marathon to raise funds and awareness for Day One Trauma Support. In the past 2 years I've had 2 major pelvic surgeries, which left me unable to walk for 3 months each time. Previous to these surgeries I was in constant pain, and mainly using crutches to walk even short distances. These surgeries have changed my life. I can now walk long distances and I'm starting to run. Something I never thought I'd be able to do!
Day One Trauma Support provide vital support to patients who have gone through major trauma, often life altering. They provide not only emotional help, but financial and practical advice to patients and their families, both whilst in hospital and beyond. Currently there is nowhere near enough support for this group of people, and Day One are working tirelessly to change this.
Please donate whatever you can to help, it will make such a difference to the support that trauma patients will receive.
